The Geneva International Motor Show is looking for start-ups

25.09.2018 – The world of individual transportation is changing: manufacturers and suppliers must come to grips with more and more questions regarding the electrification of vehicles and connected mobility, driverless vehicles, packages of digital services or transportation services. To explore the challenges posed by the mobility disruption and celebrate ideas for the automotive future ahead, a new biannual convention, called Shift AUTOMOTIVE was created. This automotive convention takes place twice a year in Geneva and Berlin, alongside the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) and International Consumer Electronics Fair (IFA).

For its next show taking place from 7-17 March 2019, the GIMS is planning an exhibition module called Shift AUTOMOTIVE – Campus of the Future.

The Shift AUTOMOTIVE – Campus of the Future will focus on information and education of the wide audience and showcase the digitalization process of the car industry. Various new electronic mobility solutions will be presented on modular stands. On information platforms visitors will discover how new technologies emerging in both sectors, electronics and automotive, are rapidly and fundamentally transforming the world of mobility. « Our objective is that the Geneva International Motor Show 2019 will become increasingly focused on the future without losing the perspective of its nearly 100 years of history » declared André Hefti, Managing Director of the GIMS. «We will present to the visitors everything that the manufacturers and suppliers are doing with their current developments and what they are proposing for the future.»

Shift AUTOMOTIVE – Campus of the future will also be in the spotlight on the Press days just before the public event starts (5-6 March 2019).

Shift AUTOMOTIVE was launched during Geneva International Motor Show in 2018 as a biannual convention between GIMS and Palexpo on one side and the IFA and Messe Berlin on the other side. Its first edition took place in Berlin on 4 and 5 September 2018 where Industry leaders from across the automotive and electronics sector were discussing the future of mobility. In a series of keynotes, brief impulse talks, panels and workshops, this conference explored the impact of new technologies on the world of mobility and how they transform the way we think, live and drive.
