SwissCaution joins the Foundation for Technological Innovation (FIT)

28.6.2021 – Swiss leader in its field of activity SwissCaution has joined the Foundation for Technological Innovation (FIT) from the beginning of the year – a new way to promote technological and digital innovation and to contribute to the dynamism and development of Vaud and the Swiss French-speaking region. SwissCaution has also become a member of the FIT Foundation Board as well as the Tech Seed and FIT Digital Selection Committees.

With its head office in Nyon, SwissCaution, the leader in rental guarantees without bank deposits in Switzerland, is naturally close to the innovation ecosystem in French-speaking Switzerland. Beyond an undeniable geographical proximity, joining the Foundation mainly means participating in a rich and dynamic ecosystem alongside other key public and private players, in Vaud in particular, and supporting young innovative companies. “It is important to give these entrepreneurs every chance of success, to allow them to address current challenges with their solutions, and to contribute to the economic blooming of the region, and especially the Canton of Vaud”, explains Patrick Oltramare, General Manager of SwissCaution.

By entering the FIT, SwissCaution also finds the possibility of integrating sectors of activity broader than its field of expertise – real estate and housing – and thus multiplying its positive impact on the region’s development. As Patrick Oltramare points out, “innovation, for example digitalization or artificial intelligence, are cross-disciplinary issues, at the heart of concerns in all fields.”

For its part, FIT is very pleased to welcome SwissCaution alongside its other contributors, which already include local companies and universities. “With the arrival of SwissCaution, the start-ups supported by FIT will be able to benefit from the experience and network of a company that is well established throughout the country”, adds David Kappeler, Head of Investments. “Within its contributors and committees, FIT now benefits from a certain diversity in terms of sectors of activity and expertise, an asset for start-ups seeking to grow in different markets.”

To SwissCaution, being part of the Foundation is also “an opportunity to establish a solid collaboration between different local actors, to work together for the prosperity of the region and to nurture privileged links with new companies and talented entrepreneurs who develop their innovative solutions”, points out Patrick Oltramare, who has joined the Foundation’s Board and the Selection Committee for Tech Seed loans. Furthermore, Christian Lambelet, Head of Digital Transformation and Strategic Projects at SwissCaution, will be lending his expertise to the FIT Digital Selection Committee of which he has become a member.
