Feel more at ease with networking and understand how it can help your startup!

In business, networks are important. But did you know that effective networking is more about coffee and less about cocktails? More about being involved in activities and less about exchanging business cards at events?

For startups, effective networks make a difference for innovation, sales and funding.

In this workshop you will learn the secret to building effective networks, including how to create a strategy based on the science of networking and how to implement your strategy building on the art of networking.

You will:

  • Learn the science of networking, especially as it relates to startups
  • Practice networking situations to feel more at ease building relationships
  • Discuss how a Silicon Valley entrepreneur leveraged her network for better performance
  • Develop a networking plan and goals for achieving it

The workshop will be held in English.

Bio of the workshop leader – Dr. Janet Shaner

Janet Shaner is a learning professional and a networking expert both in real world practice as an entrepreneur and through academic research. She has 20+ years’ experience in management education with institutions such as IMD, INSEAD and Harvard as well as industry experience with Champion Athletic Apparel.

Janet earned her doctorate at the University of Lausanne, researching the relationship between external business networks and performance in foreign investments. She holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Iowa and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
