TSMC created the semiconductor Dedicated IC Foundry business model when it was founded in 1987. TSMC served about 440 customers and manufactured more than 8,600 products for various applications covering a variety of computer, communications and consumer electronics market segments. TSMC is headquartered in the Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan, and has account management and engineering service offices in China, Europe, India, Japan, North America, and, South Korea. The talk will highlight advanced and “More-than-Moore” wafer production processes, nanoscaled technologies as well as unique R&D integration of cutting-edge process technologies, pioneering design services, manufacturing productivity and product quality.
Bio: Mrs. Maria Marced is President of TSMC Europe, with responsibility for driving the development, strategy and management of TSMC’s business in Europe. Before joining TSMC, Maria was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Sales and Marketing at NXP Semiconductors/Philips Semiconductors. Maria joined Philips Semiconductor in September 2003 as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Connected Multimedia Solutions Business Unit overseeing Philips’ semiconductor solutions for Connected Consumer applications. Previous to her work with Philips, Maria was employed at Intel where she developed her professional career for more than 19 years, reaching the top position in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region as Vice President and General Manager. Mrs. Marced studied Telecommunications Engineering at Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain. She was born in Valencia-Spain and she is married with one daughter.
