January 2020 – ClimateLaunchpad (CLP), the world’s biggest clean-tech idea competition, now welcomes applications in over 55 countries on all continents. For the sixth time in a row, the Startup Academy organizes the competition in Switzerland. It does not matter whether your innovation is in renewable energy, food and agriculture, water, transportation, industrial technology or anything else that helps tackle the negative effects of climate change. The program helps you grow your clean-tech idea into a business. Apply now!
«It was a great experience! It is amazing how in only 2 days at the Boot Camp, the trainer gave us all the tools and a solid framework to work on our idea and future startup. Personally, I began the CLP adventure as a scientist with a technology, I left CLP as an entrepreneur with a promising idea,» says Margaux Peltier, co-founder of Enerdrape, who won 3rd place at the Global Grand Final 2019 out of 2,601 applications from all over the world and 1st place at the Swiss National Final 2019.)
In all participating countries, selected participants will first work on their business ideas and pitch decks in a 2-day Boot Camp, followed by Coaching Sessions. Then, the top-2 of each country will pitch their ideas at the Global Grand Final in fall of 2020.
«A business school in disguise, that is how former participants refer to our competition. We transform people with green tech ideas into successful entrepreneurs. Climate change is solvable. Not with a single cure. We need – and there will be – thousands of big and small cures. Green start-ups lead the charge in fixing this,» says Frans Nauta, founder of ClimateLaunchpad.
The two best Swiss ideas will be awarded at the National Final in Basel and win the following:
- 1st place: Startup Academy Incubator Program worth CHF 1,000 (12 months)
- 2nd place: Participation in a Startup Academy Workshop of your choice
- 1st + 2nd place: Travel and accommodation cost to the Global Grand Final 2020
The world’s top 16 will win direct access to the Climate-KIC Accelerator Program. Additionally, there are cash prizes for the most viable startups at the Global Grand Final.
