Applied Machine Learning Days
January 27-30, 2018
SwissTech Convention Center, EPFL, Switzerland
The Applied Machine Learning Days will take place from January 27th to 30th, 2018, at the Swiss Tech Convention Center on EPFL campus. It is one of the largest machine learning & AI events in Europe, focused specifically on the applications of machine learning and AI, making it particularly interesting to industry and academia. Capacity is filling up fast. If you want to attend, we strongly encourage you to get your tickets soon. We’d hate to turn anyone down, but like last year, space will be limited.
The 4 days event will have two parts:
>> A weekend of 20 different focused workshop sessions on various topics,
>> followed by the Monday&Tuesday main conference with exciting keynotes and plenaries.
- Christopher Bishop (Director, Microsoft Research)
- Soumith Chintala (PyTorch Lead, Facebook)
- Joanna Bryson (Universities of Bath & Princeton)
- Raia Hadsell (DeepMind)
- Amnon Shashua (CEO & CTO, Mobileye)
- Martin Vetterli (President, EPFL)
- Jeremiah Harmsen (Lead Applied ML, Google)
- Frédéric Kaplan (EPFL)
- Olga Russakovsky (Princeton University)
Workshops: We added numerous new workshop sessions on the weekend on both days:
Open Food Hackdays 2018 / Machine Learning for News: Theory, Applications and Visualisation in Python / Machine Learning with Go / The Data Ring: A canvas for Data Project / Discovering Brain Structure with Machine Learning / Financial Predictions with Machine Learning / Machine Learning Reproducibility at Scale using Open Source Tooling / Crash course in Deep Learning and PyTorch / Tensorflow Basics / Machine Learning meets Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Science / Spatial Data Science with Open Data and Social Media / Unsupervised Learning in Brain-Computer Interfaces: Theory and Practice / “Reatching” into the rabbithole: Should we replace politicians with algorithms? / Modeling timeseries and sequence data on AWS using Apache MXNet and Gluon / Applied Machine Learning for Anomaly Detection / Girlscoding: Teaching Computers How to Think / Artificial Intelligence for Artists
We will hold a job fair during the event, making it easy for candidates and companies to get in touch. Contact us if you are a company interested in ML talent and not listed on our webpage yet.
Child care option is finally available, a first for an event held at EPFL! The Applied Machine Learning Days have a partnership with La Nanosphere, the EPFL Innovation Park nursery, to take care of your children during the time you will be at AMLD. If you wish to use this service, select your preferred times and return this form to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are grateful for the support of the EPFL Equal Opportunities Office to help make this service more affordable.
Registration is mandatory and includes breakfast, all coffee breaks, lunch and refreshments. We are a non-profit event.
